Shades won't move up or down by more than three inches

The shade usually displays this behavior when it's upper and lower limits are reset. This can be due to a few reasons such as a full reset of the shade. It has also occasionally occurred while pairing to a Z-wave Home Automation hub. To correct this a remote must be paired to the shade.

The fix is very simple and just follow the steps below:

Setting the upper limit

  1. Using the remote or the button on the shade, move the shade to the highest position it will go to.
  2. Press and hold both buttons on the remote until the light is a solid amber and let go. The shade will jog and the lights will start flashing rapidly.
  3. Press and hold the up button to move the shade to your desired upper position. You can press the down button for adjustment as needed. Quick taps of the up or down button will make the shade move a bit and stop.
  4. Once the shade is at the desired upper limit, press and hold both buttons on the remote and let go once the light turns to a solid amber.
  5. You have now set the upper limit.

Setting the lower limit

  1. Using the remote or the button on the shade, move the shade to the lowest position it will go to.
  2. Press and hold both buttons on the remote until the light is a solid amber and let go. The shade will jog and the lights will start flashing rapidly.
  3. Press and hold the down button to move the shade to your desired lower position. You can press the up button for adjustment as needed. Quick taps of the up or down button will make the shade move a bit and stop.
  4. Once the shade is at the desired lower limit, press and hold both buttons on the remote and let go once the light turns to a solid amber.
  5. You have now set the lower limit.
