Setting Upper and Lower Limits, and Preset Positions

This article covers:

1) Upper and Lower Limits
2) Preset Positions

We offer many types of motorization. If you're not sure if you have a Motorized Crown or Zebra Sheer Shade, check if your shade has a built-in rechargeable battery. This feature is unique to these shades.

The upper and lower limit of the shade determines where the shade stops when you raise and lower it fully. Preset positions work similarly, and provide a preset stopping point for your shade.

First, you must set the upper and lower limit, then you can set presets within those limits.

Upper and Lower Limits

To set your upper limit,

1) Move your shade 10" below your desired upper limit.

2) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second. The motor will jog once.

3) Press the 'up' button on your remote to raise the shade, and press the 'stop' button once it reaches your desired upper limit. Do not set the upper limit so far that the hembar goes into the roller or valance, as this can cause damage for long periods of time.

4) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second. The motor will jog once.

Your upper limit is now saved.

To set your lower limit,

1) Move your shade 10" above your desired upper limit.

2) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second. The motor will jog once.

3) Press the 'down' button on your remote to lower the shade, and press the 'stop' button once it reaches your desired upper limit. Do not set the lower limit so far that the fabric loops back around the roller. If it does, press the 'up' button to raise the shade (it will appear as if it was lowering) until it returns to normal.

4) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second. The motor will jog once.

Your lower limit is now saved.

Preset Positions

In addition to the upper and lower limits, you can also set up to 4 preset positions. These presets must be within the bounds of the upper and lower limits. Preset positions cause your shade to stop at these positions when you press the 'up' or 'down' button. To move past them, simply press the button again.

To set a preset position,

1) Move your shade to the desired preset position.

2) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second. The motor will jog once.

3) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 1 second again. The motor will jog once again.

Your preset position is now saved.

To delete a preset position,

1) Press 'up' or 'down' on your remote to move the shade to the preset position (let it stop normally).

2) Hold the 'program' button on the back of the remote for 7 seconds. The motor will jog once after 1 second. It will then jog again within the 7 seconds.

This preset position is now deleted.
