How To Eliminate Light Gaps on Maxxmar Blackout Roller Shades
A blackout fabric is designed to completely block light and glare, but shades mounted inside a window frame tend to have narrower fabric causing light gaps to occur. For blackout roller shades that are installed on an inside mount, there are a few ways to block natural light entering from the sides. Eliminate light gaps by installing light blockers on both sides of the shades. These light gap blockers are available as an add on to blackout roller shades. Note that light can also seep through at the top of the blinds where the mounting brackets are located. It is advisable to get blackout shades with valance for blocking light at the top. For outside mount shades or shades hung from the wall; however, you can add some overlap to your width and height to ensure that light does not seep through.
